Our 1st Annual Charity Softball Tournament was held on September 13th , 2008 at the Weber County Fairgrounds, which was also National Childhood Cancer Awareness Day. Both of Nick’s sisters play competitive softball so our family knows a little something about tournaments. With only six weeks to prepare, we signed up 15 teams in the 10u, 12u, 14u & 16u age groups, each playing 3 games in a round robin structure and participating in the skills contest. We had 180 players, 20 volunteers and hundreds of family members cheering on the players with a total of 235 runs scored. We raised over $5,300 net in donations to support CureSearch and First Descents. We had a ton of fun.
