Heat ’07
- The majority of our cuties (and families) were able to come cheer on their teams; those that couldn’t due to hospital stays or location, their teams made arrangements to connect at a later date
- We proudly represented four Angels – there is no greater honor at our tourney.
- The 16u championship game went almost 4 hours long.
- Wacky paid out $12,000 in matching donations to our cuties, which means our teams are freaking rock stars
- The weather was PERFECT
- Our UIC and umpires are just as invested in this tournament as we are, as evidenced by their long, long hours working the games.
- Our volunteers, including a special visit from Libby (CureSearch), worked tirelessly until near delirious
- Scheels made a significant donation, becoming our second sponsor ever over the past 15 years
Lee and I shed a tear or two (hundred) every time we spoke to a player, cutie, parent, coach, volunteer, umpire, friend, field crew member and concession worker. I cannot even begin to express the magnitude of joy, compassion, friendship, empathy, sportsmanship, care, connectedness, philanthropy, leadership and love experienced at this tournament. Oh, and we used softball to display it.
